Meggie is a gentle, elegant, loving little soul.  Although initially shy she gains trust quickly around people when she gets to know them.  She doesn't have a mean bone in her body and has never been known to snap or growl at people.  She gets along great with other dogs, she knows how to socialize well and set her own boundaries diplomatically in dog speak.  She loves to run (fast) and would be fantastic in agility.  She enjoys her walks, likes to play tug with her toys and sleeps quietly rolled up in a ball on the bed.  She is fully house trained, walks well on her leash, knows sit, down, shake a paw, stay and stop.  Meggie barely sheds and doesn’t require grooming.

On the challenging side, she has severe separation anxiety and acts out by causing damage if she is left alone even for a short time.  She needs a home where someone is home all day or is willing to take her to a doggy daycare when no one is home.  She prefers a patient family experienced with dog separation anxiety.  The family must have good knowledge in crate-training and is willing to crate-train Meggie positively at a very gradual pace.

Meggie is very good with kids but because she is shy and quiet she would do better with older kids instead of toddlers who are more rambunctious. She rides well in the car and simply likes to be with people.  She is a great family member and really bonds.
