Rescue Story

Mai Cha was rescued on February 15th 2014 in a Taiwanese mountainous terrain at an altitude about 800m.  Her swollen front right leg was badly injured with significant body weight loss.  Mai Cha was sent to the vet right away and required amputation surgery.  Her postoperative recovery was speedy and is now healthy.  Mai Cha doesn’t have separation anxiety and can stay home alone.  She likes to chew so chew toys are a must to prevent from developing destructive behaviour.  She would warn other dogs when eating so separate feeding is recommended if another dog is present in the household.  She has a medium energy level and requires moderate amount of exercise.

If you are interested in adopting Mai Cha please fill out an application. We will ask for pictures of your current pets (if any) and your house inside and outside upon receipt of your application.

Please note Mai Cha is part of our international rescue efforts and will be flown to the Lower Mainland (YVR) Vancouver International Airport on the next transport ONLY if a permanent home can be found beforehand.  Please consider Mai Cha, for your new addition. There is a $300 adoption fee (bank deposit and e-transfer only) which goes to help cover only a portion of each dog's medical and transport expenses. A home check will also be required because we do want to be sure that each dog goes to an environment suited to them. Please note that we don't have shelter facility in Canada, so please consider carefully again before this adoption.
